Rocky`s Run is a cross country race on the University of Minnesota Golf Course in St. Paul. Rocky Racette was an All-American in track and cross country at the U of M, winning the Big Ten and Drake Relays 5000-meter titles. She died in an auto accident on October 17, 1981. The race is being staged by the many members of the running community who knew and loved her.

Register Race Day for the Como Classic!

There is still time to join us for the debut of the Como Classic! Register on Sunday, August 7 at our race day HQ near Como Park Elementary School at 780 W Wheelock Parkway (just east of Como Lake in St Paul).

Registration begins at 6:30 AM.
5K starts @ 8:00 AM
Youth Run starts @ 8:40 AM
3K starts @ 9:00 AM

SPECIAL OFFER- No late charges for race day registration! The fees are as follows:

• Base fee: $20 for the 5K or 3K; $25 for the Doubleheader (5K and 3K);$5 for the youth run
• Save $5 if you form or join a team of 5 or more
• Shirts are optional and available for an additional fee: $8 for cotton short sleeve shirts (men's & women's sizes); $11 for wicking sleeveless shirts (men's & women's sizes); limited sizes are available on race day; if we are out of your size, we will re-order and shirts will be mailed to you 3 weeks after the race

Como Classic Packet Pickup on Saturday, 8/6

The Como Classic will be held this Sunday, August 7, but there is no need to wait until race day to pick up your race packet. On Saturday, August 6 from 11:00 AM-3:00 PM you can pick up packets at The North Face store at Grand/Avon in St Paul.

Race packets consist of bib numbers (with attached timing chips) and optional T-shirts. To pick up your packet, please bring a copy of your registration confirmation or your ID. You may pick up packets for friends as long as they have given you permission to do so.

Haven't registered yet? Online registration is available until 6:00 PM on Saturday, August 6. You may also register in person at The North Face store from 11:00 AM-3:00 PM on Saturday, August 6.

Race packets will also be available for pickup on race day at our HQ near Wheelock Pky/Victoria beginning at 6:30 AM.

The New Classic

It's time for a new classic. The Hennepin-Lake Classic has been on the calendar the first Sunday in August since 1978. Due to high event costs in Minneapolis, the classic is getting a makeover this year. The new venue is Como Lake in St Paul, and the Como Classic will debut on Sunday, August 7.

The event format will morph from the 10K/5K format of the HLC to a 5K/3K event at Como Lake. The 5K is a certified course (same as our Turkey Run course in November) and is part of the MDRA Grand Prix series. The 3K (just less than two miles) will be a run/walk and is a great tune-up distance for cross country runners getting ready for their fall season.
